1. Agreement to These Terms
These Terms of Use constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Failfast Pioneer Systems Ltd (RC: 9433743), a company incorporated in Nigeria and operating under the brand name FailFastNG (referred to in these terms as 'FailFastNG', 'we', 'us', or 'our'). Our registered address is 6, Rotimi Street, Yaba, Lagos, Nigeria.
By creating an account on FailFastNG or using any part of our platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use the platform.
These terms apply to all users: Challengers, Instructors, Sponsors, School Admins, Teachers, and Students. Where specific terms apply only to certain user types, those sections are labeled clearly.
We may update these terms when the platform changes or when Nigerian law requires it. We will give registered users at least 14 days' notice by email before any material changes take effect. Continued use of the platform after that date means you accept the updated terms.
2. Who Can Use FailFastNG
2.1 FailFast Arena (B2C)
FailFast Arena is open to users from any country. Registration is not restricted by location. To register, you must:
- Provide accurate registration information, including your date of birth
- Not already have an account that was terminated by FailFastNG
Real-money features (wallet, deposits, group staking, funded sponsored competitions, and funded hosted competitions) require Nigerian identity verification (BVN and NIN). These are only available to users who can complete Nigerian KYC. Users outside Nigeria, or Nigerian users who have not completed KYC, access the platform in free-mode only: all practice and competition mechanics work, but no money enters or exits the platform. See Section 18 for the full global access policy.
Users under 18 may register and use FailFast Mine, tier progression, leaderboards, streaks, Instructor access (at Expert tier), Adventurer mode (at Expert tier), free challenges, free hosted competitions, and free sponsored competitions (once Skilled tier). Wallet and real-money features are hidden from under-18 accounts and become available automatically when the user turns 18. See Section 4.8 for full details.
2.2 FailFast EDU (B2B)
FailFast EDU is open to schools and tutorial centers from any country. Because EDU has no wallet or real-money features, there is no geographic restriction on registration. School Admins must be authorized representatives of their institution. Teachers and Students access EDU only through accounts provisioned by their School Admin.
EDU has no real-money staking features. It is a separate product from Arena and operates under different usage rules, as described in Section 10 of these terms.
3. Your Account
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. Do not share your password with anyone. FailFastNG will never ask for your password.
If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at legal@failfastng.com.
You may only hold one active Arena Challenger account and one active account per EDU school tenant. Creating multiple Arena accounts to circumvent tier restrictions, suspension, or staking limits is a breach of these terms and may result in permanent account termination.
EDU students may also create a separate Arena Challenger account. These are two distinct accounts that remain separate. Qualifying practice activity from the EDU account can be synced one-directionally into the linked Arena account (see Section 10.4). Holding one EDU student account and one Arena Challenger account is permitted and does not conflict with the one-account rule above.
If you are a natural person registering on behalf of a school or business, you confirm that you have authority to enter into this agreement on that entity's behalf.
4. FailFast Arena: Competitive Staking Rules
4.1 How Staking Works
FailFast Arena uses a group staking model. Multiple Challengers join a challenge, each committing a stake from their wallet. After the challenge ends, winnings are distributed to qualifying performers based on the rules set for that challenge. FailFastNG deducts a platform fee before distributing winnings. The full fee breakdown is shown to you before you confirm any stake.
FailFastNG does not act as a counterparty in any challenge. All stakes come from and are returned to user wallets. The platform does not fund any prizes from its own capital.
Challenges are not matched instantly. When a user creates a challenge, it stays open in the marketplace for a window set by the creator, ranging from 2 days to 2 weeks. The competition start time falls after the open window closes. This means the platform does not require thousands of simultaneous users to produce a match.
4.2 Wallet and Deposits
To participate in staking challenges or fund a hosted competition, you must load your FailFastNG wallet through our payment platform partner. The amount you request to deposit is exactly what arrives in your wallet. All applicable processing fees are disclosed before you confirm any transaction.
Wallet access requires Nigerian KYC verification. This includes BVN (Bank Verification Number) and NIN (National Identification Number) verification as required by CBN regulations. Under CBN policy, BVN is only issued to Nigerian residents aged 18 and above. This means the KYC requirement is itself a statutory age gate: no person under 18 can obtain a BVN and therefore no person under 18 can complete wallet verification, regardless of what date of birth was provided at registration. Real-money access is restricted to adults not just by our platform rules but by the CBN's own eligibility requirements.
Wallet balances are capped based on your current tier level. Tier progression unlocks higher wallet limits and access to larger stake ranges. Your current limits are shown in your account settings.
Wallet funds are held in a designated account separate from FailFastNG's operational funds. They are not used for FailFastNG's day-to-day expenses. The specific custodial arrangement for wallet funds is maintained in accordance with the requirements of our payment platform partner and applicable Nigerian financial regulations.
4.3 Withdrawals
You may withdraw your available wallet balance at any time, subject to:
- A minimum withdrawal amount (shown in your account settings)
- Identity verification requirements, which may apply for withdrawals above certain thresholds in line with Nigerian financial regulations
- Processing times set by our payment platform partner
Funds staked in an active challenge are locked until that challenge concludes and results are confirmed.
4.4 Gift Cards
Gift cards are a separate balance system, independent from the wallet. They can be used to enter challenges and are subject to the following rules:
- A gift card can be used across multiple challenges until the balance is fully spent. Only one gift card may be applied per transaction.
- Gift cards cannot be withdrawn as cash. They expire after 6 months by default. The sender may set a shorter or longer expiry at the time of purchase.
- If a gift card expires or the recipient returns it, the unused balance is credited back to the sender's wallet. The recipient can return any remaining balance at any time, regardless of whether any portion has been spent.
- Maximum 10 active gift cards per user.
- Gift cards are denominated in naira and are only available to Nigerian KYC-verified users. A user who has not completed Nigerian identity verification cannot send or receive gift cards.
- Under-18 users cannot receive or use gift cards, regardless of tier. Gift card access activates on the user's 18th birthday alongside the rest of the wallet and money layer.
- Rookies who are 18 or older with Nigerian KYC can receive gift cards but cannot use them until they reach Skilled tier.
4.5 Tier System and Stake Ranges
Wallet capacity follows your highest tier across all subjects. A user who is Grand Master in one subject holds a Grand Master-level wallet cap regardless of their tier in other subjects. However, competition entry requires a subject-specific tier. To join an Expert-tier Physics challenge, you must be Expert tier or above in Physics. Being Grand Master in English does not qualify you to enter Expert Physics competitions. This rule exists because the platform's skill verification is subject-specific. Joining a challenge in a subject you have not earned the tier in is visible to other participants and is your informed choice when allowed, but the platform gates entry at the relevant tier to protect the integrity of every session.
Each tier has a defined minimum and maximum stake range. You may not stake below the floor or above the ceiling for your current tier in the relevant subject. At Master tier, you also unlock the ability to host competitions for other users (see Section 9).
4.6 Sponsored Competitions
Sponsors may create two types of competitions on FailFast Arena: funded (with a real-money prize pool) and free (no prize pool, for brand engagement only). Challengers do not stake their own funds in either type of sponsored competition. Funded sponsored competitions require the Sponsor to have Nigerian KYC verification. Free sponsored competitions are available to sponsors from any country. A 15% platform commission applies to funded sponsored competitions only. See Section 8 for full Sponsor terms.
4.7 No Artificial Opponents
FailFastNG does not use bots, AI-generated participants, or artificial opponents in any competition. Every participant in any staking, sponsored, or hosted competition, whether funded or free, is a real verified user.
4.8 Under-18 Users in Arena
Users who are under 18 at the time of registration may use FailFast Arena with the following restrictions:
- Wallet is hidden. The wallet feature does not appear in the account UI until the user's 18th birthday.
- No deposits, staking, funded sponsored competitions, or funded hosted competitions with real-money prizes.
- No gift cards. Under-18 users cannot receive or use gift cards until they turn 18.
- Free challenges, free hosted competitions, free sponsored competitions (once Skilled tier), FailFast Mine, tier progression, streaks, leaderboards, Instructor access (at Expert tier), and Adventurer mode (at Expert tier) are all available without restriction.
The real-money restriction for under-18 users is backed by two independent layers. The first is this platform's policy of hiding wallet features until the user's verified 18th birthday. The second is CBN regulation: BVN is only issued to Nigerian residents aged 18 and above, meaning it is physically impossible for a user under 18 to complete the KYC verification required to activate a wallet, even if they declared a false date of birth at registration. These two layers together make underage access to real-money features extremely unlikely in practice and defensible before a regulatory body.
When the user turns 18, the wallet feature unlocks automatically based on the verified date of birth collected at registration. All previously earned tier progress, points, streaks, Instructor access, and Adventurer access carry over. Wallet activation at 18 requires completing the BVN and NIN verification process as any other new staking user.
If FailFastNG determines that an under-18 user has accessed real-money features before their 18th birthday, wallet access will be suspended immediately pending investigation.
4.9 Rookie Tier
Rookie is the starting tier for all new Arena Challengers. Rookies have the following specific rules:
- No wallet. Rookies cannot load funds or access any real-money features.
- No real-money staking.
- No sponsored competition access. Sponsored competitions (funded or free) require Skilled tier minimum. Rookies can browse them in the marketplace but cannot join.
- Free group challenges are available. Rookies can create and join free (no-money) group sessions using the same mechanics as staking challenges but with no entry fee and no prize pool.
- Free challenges award points at the full FailFast Mine rate, not the reduced competition rate. This is a Rookie-specific benefit designed to accelerate progression to Skilled tier.
- Gift cards: Rookies aged 18 or older with Nigerian KYC can receive gift cards but cannot use them until they reach Skilled tier. Rookies under 18 cannot receive or use gift cards.
- Full marketplace browsing is available. Rookies can see all listings even if they cannot join them.
- Rookie tier serves as an extended onboarding period. No tier below Skilled grants access to real-money features.
5. The Fail-Forward Scoring System
FailFastNG uses a dual-point scoring system. Grit Points are earned for attempting questions and correcting errors. Success Points are earned for correct answers. Both types are tracked per subject, but they serve different purposes.
Success Points control tier progression. To advance to the next tier in a subject, you must accumulate the required number of Success Points in that subject. Tier promotion above Skilled also requires that a minimum percentage of those points came from questions at an appropriate difficulty level. Earning only easy questions cannot carry you to higher tiers regardless of how many points you accumulate. Your tier standing is driven entirely by Success Points and difficulty performance.
Grit Points do not affect your tier. They serve three purposes: they appear on the leaderboard for dedicated practitioners (Top Learners), they act as a tie-breaker in competitions where two participants finish with the same Success Point score, and in FailFast EDU they contribute to the school-level Fearless Learner ratio that measures student engagement and effort.
Manipulating either system — such as intentionally answering incorrectly to farm Grit Points, or using external tools to inflate your first-attempt success rate — is a violation of these terms. Scores from FailFast Mine and competitive challenges are subject to review. FailFastNG reserves the right to adjust, void, or flag scores that result from behavior inconsistent with fair play.
6. Streaks and Grace Days
The streak system tracks consecutive days of active participation. A streak gives your scoring a multiplier bonus that applies to both FailFast Mine and Adventurer mode sessions. If you miss a day, you can consume a grace day to preserve your streak. Breaking a streak without a grace day resets the multiplier to its base value.
A streak is maintained by completing at least one session per day in any of the following: FailFast Mine, Adventurer mode, group staking, free challenges, sponsored competitions (funded or free), or hosted competitions (funded or free). Any meaningful platform activity keeps the streak alive.
Grace day balances are displayed in your account. FailFastNG does not restore streaks lost due to user inactivity, technical issues on the user's device, or poor internet connectivity.
7. Instructors
7.1 Content Submission
Instructors submit questions and supporting content to the FailFastNG question bank. All submitted content goes through a verification and quality review process before it is approved for use on the platform.
By submitting content, you confirm that:
- The content is your original work or you have the right to license it to FailFastNG
- The content does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights
- The content does not contain harmful, misleading, or unlawful material
7.2 Instructor Payouts
Approved Instructor content earns payouts when that content is used in group staking sessions. Payouts are calculated from a pool tied to the staking commission earned by the platform during that month. The pool is weighted by how much of each session's questions came from verified Instructor or Teacher contributions.
Total Instructor payouts for any given month are capped at 30% of the platform's staking commission for that month. This cap applies across all Instructors collectively. Your share within that pool depends on how much of your approved content was used relative to other contributors in the same sessions.
Payout schedules and minimum thresholds are described in the Instructor section of your account dashboard. FailFastNG reserves the right to adjust payout rates with 30 days' notice to active Instructors.
If you are an international Instructor located outside Nigeria, see Section 7.4 for the specific terms that apply to your withdrawals.
7.3 Content Ownership
Instructors retain ownership of their submitted content. By submitting, you grant FailFastNG a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, adapt, and distribute that content on the platform and in future FailFastNG products. This license ends if you withdraw your content from the platform, except for content already in use within active challenges, which may continue until those challenges conclude.
7.4 International Instructors
FailFastNG is open to Instructors from any country. There is no geographic restriction on registering as a Standalone Instructor or unlocking the Instructor role through the Challenger tier system. International Instructors submit questions through the same verification pipeline, earn payouts using the same formula, and have access to the same live analytics as Nigerian Instructors.
However, one restriction applies to withdrawals: the Instructor wallet withdrawal function is only available in countries where FailFastNG has active payment infrastructure. At launch, this is Nigeria only.
This means international Instructors will see their earnings accumulate in their wallet dashboard in real time as their verified questions are used in staking sessions, but they cannot withdraw those earnings until the platform adds payout support for their country or region.
FailFastNG will notify international Instructors by email when withdrawal becomes available for their region. The accumulated balance is retained in full and does not expire. You do not need to take any action to preserve it.
If you close your account before withdrawal becomes available in your region, your accumulated wallet balance cannot be immediately transferred since there is no payment infrastructure in your country. Before processing any account closure for an international Instructor with a positive wallet balance, FailFastNG will contact you at your registered email address to discuss available options. We will not close your account and dispose of your balance without first attempting to resolve the situation with you. Options may include holding the balance pending regional expansion, transferring via an alternative method if one becomes available, or other arrangements as agreed. If we are unable to reach you after 60 days of good-faith efforts, we will hold the balance in a dormant state indefinitely until a withdrawal solution is available for your region.
8. Sponsors
Sponsors are organizations or individuals who create competitions on FailFast Arena. Sponsored competitions come in two types: funded (with a real-money prize pool) and free (no prize pool, for brand engagement and user participation only). To become a Sponsor, you must complete the Sponsor registration process and agree to any additional terms presented during that process.
8.1 Funded Sponsored Competitions
Funded sponsored competitions require Nigerian KYC verification. As a funded Sponsor, you are responsible for:
- Funding the prize pool in full before a sponsored challenge goes live
- Ensuring your competition parameters comply with Nigerian advertising and promotional standards
- Ensuring your brand and any associated materials do not violate third-party rights
A 15% platform commission is charged on the total prize pool of every funded sponsored competition, paid upfront from the sponsor's wallet. FailFastNG reserves the right to decline or remove a funded sponsored competition that violates platform standards or applicable law. In such cases, unused funds will be returned less any processing fees already incurred.
8.2 Free Sponsored Competitions
Free sponsored competitions have no prize pool and no platform commission. Any sponsor from any country may create free sponsored competitions. Sponsors on the free tier may create up to 3 free sponsored competitions per month. Free sponsored competitions are open to all eligible users including under-18 users who have reached Skilled tier.
International sponsors who need more than 3 free competitions per month or want advanced analytics and targeting may subscribe to a paid sponsor plan. Details of paid sponsor plans are available in the Sponsor dashboard.
8.3 Sponsor Tier System (Funded Competitions Only)
Sponsors who run funded competitions are assigned a tier based on total prize payouts made. Higher tiers unlock larger wallet limits for funding competitions:
- Basic: 0 to 300,000 naira in total payouts. Wallet limit: 250,000 naira.
- Bronze: Above 300,000 naira in total payouts. Wallet limit: 500,000 naira.
- Platinum: Above 500,000 naira in total payouts. Wallet limit: 1,000,000 naira.
Only payouts from completed competitions count toward sponsor tier progression. Free sponsored competitions do not contribute to sponsor tier advancement.
8.4 Competition Setup and Participant Rules
When a sponsor creates a competition, they set a registration closing date. This is the date and time after which no new participants can join. The registration closing date must be set before the competition start time. After the registration gate closes, the participant list is locked. The minimum participant check is evaluated at the registration closing date, not at the start time.
Sponsors may upload study materials (PDFs, documents, or links) when creating a competition. These materials are visible only to confirmed participants from the moment they join. Users browsing the marketplace cannot see them.
Participants must be Skilled tier or above to join any sponsored competition, funded or free. Rookies cannot participate in sponsored competitions.
Payout structure options for funded sponsored competitions:
- Top 1 only: The single highest scorer receives the full prize pool.
- Top 3: Three distinct descending amounts (1st, 2nd, 3rd), each individually set by the sponsor.
- Full descending with participation payout: Top 3 each receive individually set amounts. Everyone in 4th place and below receives a flat participation payout set by the sponsor.
8.5 Your Rights as a Participant
You may revoke your registration for any sponsored competition at any time before the registration closing date. Your entry is refunded in full.
If a competition does not meet its minimum participant count by the registration closing date, it is automatically cancelled. All paid entries are refunded in full including the platform commission. The sponsor receives a notification 24 hours before the registration closing date if the minimum has not yet been met.
The sponsor may cancel a competition before the start time for a full refund.
Tie handling: if two or more participants tie for a payout position, the sponsor is notified and given 48 hours to decide how to split the payout. The default if no decision is made is to split the tied amount evenly between tied participants.
8.6 International Sponsor Subscription
International sponsors who need more than 3 free sponsored competitions per month, or who want advanced analytics and targeting features, may subscribe to a paid sponsor plan. The subscription is billed in USD and processed through an international payment provider, separately from the Nigerian payment infrastructure used for funded competitions.
The subscription is available globally. It covers software access and analytics only. It does not grant the ability to fund real-money prize pools, which remains restricted to Nigerian KYC-verified sponsors at launch.
The subscription launches when the platform reaches 1,000 or more monthly active users. Before that threshold, all international sponsors operate on the free tier (3 competitions per month with custom branding and basic analytics) at no cost.
Subscription tiers:
- Growth tier ($50 USD per month): Unlimited free sponsored competitions per month. Full analytics dashboard covering performance distribution, question-level analytics, and engagement depth. Priority placement in the marketplace.
- Scale tier ($100 USD per month): Everything in Growth, plus targeted distribution (filter which users see your competition by tier, subject interest, or activity level), exportable reports, and dedicated account support.
Nigerian sponsors are not offered the subscription. Nigerian sponsors who run funded competitions already access analytics through the standard sponsor dashboard. Subscription tiers for Nigerian sponsors will be addressed separately if demand justifies it.
Subscription billing is monthly. You may cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are issued for partial months. FailFastNG reserves the right to change subscription pricing with at least 30 days' notice to active subscribers.
9. Hosted Competitions
9.1 Who Can Host and Competition Types
Challengers who reach Master tier can create and run competitions for other users. Hosted competitions come in two types: funded and free. The host does not participate in their own competition.
- Funded hosted competitions: The host provides a prize pool from their wallet. Participants compete for real money. A 5% platform commission applies. Only users aged 18 or older with active wallets may participate.
- Free hosted competitions: No prize pool. No platform commission. Participants compete for points and leaderboard position only. Free hosted competitions are open to all users, including users under 18.
9.2 Question Source
For both types, the host chooses one of two question sources:
- Platform verified questions: Questions come from the platform's curated bank. Grit Points and Success Points earned by participants count toward their recorded totals and tier progression. Participants see this clearly before joining.
- Host-submitted questions: The host creates their own questions for the competition. Grit Points and Success Points earned by participants do not count toward their recorded totals or tier progression. Participants see this clearly before joining. Host-submitted questions do not enter the platform's question bank or verification pipeline.
9.3 Costs and Commission
For funded hosted competitions, the host pays the full prize pool plus a 5% platform commission, deducted upfront from their wallet. The prize pool and commission are shown before the host confirms.
Free hosted competitions carry no commission and require no wallet funding. The host simply configures the competition and publishes it.
9.4 Setup and Eligibility
For funded hosted competitions, participants must be Skilled tier or above and aged 18 or older. Rookies and under-18 users cannot join funded hosted competitions.
For free hosted competitions, all users may participate, including Rookies and under-18 users.
In both cases, the host sets a registration closing date, participant limits (minimum and maximum), and session format. If the minimum number of participants is not met by the registration closing date, the competition is automatically cancelled. For funded competitions, the full amount including commission is refunded to the host's wallet.
9.5 Tie Rules and Cancellation
Ties in payout positions in funded competitions are split evenly by default. The host may cancel a funded competition before the registration closing date for a full refund. Participants may revoke their registration at any time before the registration closing date. Free hosted competitions can be cancelled by the host at any time before the start time. No funds are involved so there is no refund process.
9.6 Payout Structure Options for Funded Hosted Competitions
- Top 1 only: Single winner receives the full prize pool.
- Top 3: Three distinct descending amounts (1st, 2nd, 3rd).
- Full descending with participation payout: Top 3 each receive individually set amounts. Everyone 4th and below receives a flat participation payout.
9.7 Host Badge
A badge on the host's profile tracks the number of hosted competitions they have successfully completed. Both funded and free competitions count toward the badge, provided they ran to completion and met the minimum participant threshold. This gives Master and Grand Master users a visible status marker regardless of whether they choose to run funded or free events.
9.8 What Hosted Competitions Do Not Include
Hosted competitions do not include custom branding, a sponsor analytics dashboard, or access to the Sponsor tier progression system. These are features reserved for dedicated Sponsor accounts.
10. FailFast EDU: Schools and Tutorial Centers
10.1 Separate from Arena and Geographic Scope
FailFast EDU is a completely separate product from FailFast Arena. Students in EDU have no access to Arena's staking or hosted competition features. Data between the two products does not share in real time, but EDU students may link their school account to a separate Arena account through the process described in Section 10.4. Arena activity, wallet history, and staking records are never visible in the school dashboard under any circumstances.
FailFast EDU is not restricted to Nigerian schools. Because EDU has no wallet, staking, or real-money features, there is no regulatory barrier to international schools using the platform. Any school from any country may register and use EDU on the same terms as Nigerian schools. Payment from schools in countries outside Paystack's supported markets may be arranged via bank transfer on request.
10.2 School Admin Responsibilities
The School Admin is the account holder for the institution's EDU subscription. As School Admin, you are responsible for:
- Creating and managing Teacher and Student accounts within your institution's tenant
- Ensuring student data is collected with appropriate consent and in line with the NDPA 2023
- Setting appropriate access levels for Teachers within your school environment
- Removing accounts for staff or students who leave the institution
10.3 Teacher Permissions
Teachers can create quizzes, assessments, and competitions within their class scope. Teacher-created content remains within the school's tenant and is not shared to the wider FailFastNG question bank without explicit authorization from the School Admin.
10.4 EDU to Arena Account Linking and Sync
EDU students can link their school account to a separate FailFast Arena Challenger account. The two accounts remain separate and sit in different database environments. Linking them enables a one-directional, continuous data sync from the EDU account to the Arena account.
What syncs from EDU to Arena: Success Points and Grit Points earned in EDU FailFast Mine sessions using platform-verified questions. Subject-specific tier progression earned through that practice counts toward Arena tier progression, since the questions are from the same verified bank and the scoring system is identical. Streak days earned in EDU count toward the Arena streak.
What does not sync: Points from teacher-created quizzes, custom-scored assessments, or school competitions. School leaderboard rankings, class assignments, teacher notes, and admin settings. None of this data is visible in or transferred to Arena.
What never flows from Arena to EDU: Wallet balance, staking history, competition winnings, and any money-related data. The school admin is not notified when a student links accounts and cannot see the student's Arena activity.
Difficulty-tier gating still applies after linking. Synced points count toward tier thresholds, but the user must still meet the difficulty-tier question ratio requirements for tier promotion. A student with many points from easy school content still needs to demonstrate competence at harder difficulty levels before advancing in Arena.
Linking is initiated by the student. It requires confirming ownership of both accounts. The school admin's permission is not required and they are not informed of the link.
10.5 EDU Account Pricing
FailFast EDU operates on a freemium model. Every school receives one Admin account, two Teacher accounts, and six Student accounts at no cost. Additional accounts beyond these are billed quarterly at the following rates:
- Admin account: 3,000 naira per quarter
- Teacher account: 2,000 naira per quarter
- Student account: 1,000 naira per quarter
Billing is based on account-days, not fixed snapshots. An account active for half a term is billed at half the quarterly rate. Schools can schedule temporary downgrades during holiday periods to pause billing on suspended accounts. All billing terms and invoice calculations are described in detail within the EDU Admin dashboard.
11. Adventurer Mode
Adventurer Mode is an AI-powered personal practice feature available to Challengers who reach Expert tier in any subject. It allows users to upload study materials, generate questions from those materials, and practice using the fail-forward scoring system on any topic they choose.
Points accumulated in Adventurer Mode appear on your profile under custom subject names. These points do not affect your official tier progression or staking eligibility.
By uploading materials to Adventurer Mode, you confirm that you have the right to use those materials for personal learning purposes. FailFastNG does not claim any rights over materials you upload and does not make them available to other users.
12. Platform Integrity and Prohibited Conduct
The following conduct is prohibited on FailFastNG:
- Using automated tools, bots, scripts, or any method to answer questions outside of normal interaction with the platform
- Sharing answers or colluding with other participants during a live challenge
- Capturing screenshots of questions or transmitting question content to third parties during a session
- Creating multiple accounts or using another person's account
- Exploiting bugs or unintended platform behavior to gain scoring advantages
- Attempting to reverse-engineer any part of the platform
- Introducing malicious code or attempting to disrupt platform services
FailFastNG uses technical measures to detect integrity violations. These include recording per-question response times, logging app focus events and the duration of each absence, and running statistical anomaly checks on scoring patterns. A blocking overlay appears when you return to the app after switching away during an active session. In competition sessions, the session timer does not pause during your absence or during the overlay period. In practice sessions, the timer pauses. Full details on what is collected and why are in the platform's Privacy Policy.
If our systems flag your account, we may withhold winnings pending a review, suspend your account, or permanently terminate it depending on the severity of the violation. No automatic penalty is applied based on a flag alone. A manual review confirms any action taken.
If you believe a flag was applied to your account incorrectly, contact us at legal@failfastng.com to request a review.
13. Intellectual Property
All platform code, design, branding, question bank content (excluding Instructor-submitted content governed by Section 7.3), and system documentation is owned by FailFastNG or its licensors.
You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the platform without written permission from FailFastNG.
FailFastNG respects third-party intellectual property. If you believe content on our platform infringes your rights, contact us at legal@failfastng.com with details of the alleged infringement.
14. Fees and Payment Model
FailFastNG operates on a fee-forward payment model. This means:
- You always receive exactly the amount you request. Fees are not deducted from the amount you specify.
- All applicable fees are shown as a separate line item before you confirm any transaction.
- You can review the full cost of any action before committing to it.
Current platform commission rates: group staking challenges: 10% of the total prize pool. Funded sponsored competitions: 15% of the total prize pool. Funded hosted competitions: 5% of the total prize pool. Free sponsored and free hosted competitions carry no commission.
Platform fees may change over time. We will give you at least 14 days' notice of any fee changes that affect existing users.
All transactions are processed in Nigerian Naira through our payment platform partner. FailFastNG does not accept payment in cryptocurrency.
15. Account Suspension and Termination
15.1 By FailFastNG
We may suspend or terminate your account if you:
- Breach these terms
- Provide false registration information
- Engage in conduct that harms other users or the platform
- Are found to have used the platform in violation of applicable Nigerian law
On suspension, your wallet balance remains accessible for withdrawal unless the suspension is related to a financial dispute or active investigation. On permanent termination for cause, funds may be withheld pending investigation and returned if no violation is confirmed.
15.2 By You
You may close your account at any time by contacting us at legal@failfastng.com. Before closure is processed, you must withdraw any available wallet balance. If you submit a closure request without withdrawing your balance, we will prompt you to withdraw before we proceed. If we are unable to reach you and you do not respond within 30 days, your account will be suspended and your balance will be held in a dormant state. Dormant balances are not forfeited. They remain accessible to you for up to 7 years from the date the account was suspended, after which unclaimed balances will be handled in accordance with Nigerian regulations on unclaimed funds at that time.
16. Limitation of Liability
FailFastNG provides the platform on an as-is basis. We do not guarantee that the platform will be available at all times, that scores will be free from errors, or that all challenges will complete without technical interruption.
FailFastNG is not liable for:
- Loss of earnings or winnings caused by technical failures outside our control
- Loss caused by your failure to keep your account credentials secure
- Financial loss arising from your participation in staking or hosted competitions
- Decisions made by Sponsors or the outcomes of Sponsor-funded competitions
Where liability cannot be excluded under Nigerian law, our total liability for any single claim is limited to the amount you deposited into your wallet in the 30 days immediately before the incident giving rise to the claim.
17. Responsible Gaming
FailFast Arena involves real-money staking. Participation carries financial risk. You may lose the funds you stake in any challenge. Only stake amounts you can afford to lose.
FailFastNG does not offer credit for staking. You may only stake funds that are already in your wallet. The platform does not lend money to users for the purpose of entering challenges.
If you believe your participation in staking challenges is becoming harmful to you or others around you, we encourage you to take a break. You may set self-imposed limits on your staking activity by contacting us at legal@failfastng.com. We will apply those limits to your account at your request.
You may also request a temporary or permanent suspension of your wallet and staking access at any time. This does not affect your non-money features (FailFast Mine, leaderboards, streaks, Adventurer mode). A suspended wallet can be reactivated on request after a cooling-off period of at least 30 days.
If you are concerned about a minor in your household accessing real-money features on this platform, contact us immediately at legal@failfastng.com.
18. Global Access and Geographic Restrictions
18.1 Who Can Register
FailFastNG is open to users from any country. Registration is not restricted by location. The core principle is consistent: any feature that does not involve real money is globally accessible. Any feature that involves real money is gated to Nigeria at launch.
18.2 Challengers
Any user worldwide may create an account, practice in FailFast Mine, build tier progression, maintain streaks, participate in free challenges, participate in free hosted competitions, participate in free sponsored competitions (once Skilled tier), and contribute questions through the Instructor and Adventurer pipelines. These features require no geographic restriction.
18.3 Standalone Instructors
International Instructors may register and submit questions through the same verification pipeline as Nigerian Instructors. Content payouts from questions used in staking sessions accumulate in the Instructor's wallet regardless of location. However, withdrawals from the Instructor wallet are only available in countries where FailFastNG has payment infrastructure. International Instructors can see their accumulated earnings in their dashboard and will be notified when withdrawal becomes available for their region.
18.4 Sponsors
Sponsors from any country may register and create free sponsored competitions (no prize pool). Free sponsored competitions are permanently available to international sponsors with no time limit, subject to the 3-competition-per-month limit on the free tier. International sponsors who want more competitions or advanced analytics may subscribe to a paid sponsor plan.
Funded sponsored competitions with real-money prize pools require Nigerian KYC verification and Nigerian payment processing. International sponsors cannot fund prize pools until the platform expands real-money operations to their region. The path to accepting international sponsor funds will be determined through our ongoing regulatory and legal review of cross-border gaming transactions. International sponsors interested in funding prize pools may contact us at legal@failfastng.com to be notified when this becomes available.
18.5 Real-Money Features Are Nigeria-Only at Launch
Wallet access, deposits, withdrawals, group staking, funded sponsored competitions, and funded hosted competitions require Nigerian identity verification (BVN and NIN). These are issued only to Nigerian residents. Users outside Nigeria cannot complete this verification, so real-money features are automatically unavailable to them. Non-Nigerian users experience the platform in the same way as all users before the gaming license is granted: full practice and competition mechanics, no money in or out.
18.6 Data Protection for International Users
FailFastNG is operated from Nigeria under Nigerian law. All user data, regardless of the user's country of origin, is stored and processed in accordance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023. By registering for and using the platform, users outside Nigeria accept that their data is processed under Nigerian law and by a Nigerian entity. The platform does not currently offer jurisdiction-specific data protection arrangements for users in other countries.
18.7 Marketing Scope
FailFastNG does not actively market to international users at launch. International user growth is organic. All marketing budget and outreach is focused on Nigeria, where revenue is generated.
19. Governing Law and Disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute arising from your use of FailFastNG that cannot be resolved through direct communication with us will be referred to mediation before any court proceedings are initiated. The mediating body and applicable rules will be agreed between the parties at the time the dispute arises, failing which either party may apply to a court of competent jurisdiction to appoint a mediator.
The courts of the Federal Republic of Nigeria have jurisdiction over any disputes that proceed to litigation. Nothing in these terms prevents you from bringing proceedings in the courts of the state in which you are ordinarily resident if Nigerian law permits this.
Your rights under the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act (FCCPA) 2018 are not affected by these terms. If you are a Nigerian consumer and are unable to resolve a complaint with us directly, you have the right to escalate your complaint to the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) at www.fccpc.gov.ng. This right exists regardless of any mediation clause in these terms.
